 A Blanket of Hope was created to offer Greyhound adopters and enthusiasts attractive, high quality and unique knit products while helping to support Greyhound rescue and adoption. A Blanket of Hope will donate a portion of it's proceeds to the Greyhound Rescue. |

 The story of A Blanket of Hope began in September,1999. Over Labor Day Weekend, our daughter, Susan, lost her beloved shepherd due to a sudden illness. Soon afterwards, through friends, Susan learned of the wonderful efforts of the many Greyhound rescue groups and their adoption efforts.. Only a little time passed before Susan welcomed a wonderful Greyhound, named Hope, into her home. Little did we know how symbolic this name would come to be.
Susan would shortly be diagnosed with a life treatening illness and would undergo many, many months of treatment. When she was certain that she had beaten the illness, with the help of dear friends and family, she started a business and named it "A Blanket of Hope" to symbolize her faith in the future and to honor her loving Greyhound.
Unfortunately, the future turned out not to be bright. Susan's illness returned and, after a long struggle, she passed away. In her memory, we, her family, are continuing her business.

 For many reasons, Hope's name has come to have great meaning as we continue our journey together. When the opportunity presented itself to start this business, the easiest decision I made was to name the company after Hope. A Blanket of Hope, named for my wonderful Greyhound, is symbolic of the role that hope for the future has played in our lives and embodies the wish that all Greyhounds will know the peace and comfort of a loving forever home. |
